ID:entity is your window into the activities, opportunities, news & events surrounding The iD Centre, its multitude of high growth technology tenant companies & relevant aspects of the wider technology environment.

New tenants, Quantum23 Solutions, teach us how to make the very best of a university gap year, whilst Railtech's Adrian Hines returns from a consultancy trip to South Korea. Grants to Help Pay Your iD Centre Rent Still Available!
In June we announced the provision of grants to help new iD Centre tenants to cover the costs of their rent. We're pleased to have already welcomed our first new tenants under the scheme
& would like all entrepreneurs in the technology industries to be aware that these grants are still available.
In order to qualify, you must be unemployed, a recent graduate, or have been recently made redundant, or be at risk of redundancy. With one simple form to fill in, followed by a straightforward selection interview, a moving in date can then be agreed. It's really that simple. Quantum23 Solutions: Year out for "Business in a Box"
It might surprise readers to learn that new tenants, David Stevenson (20) & Leon Revill-Hendley (20), of Quantum23 Solutions are still University of Derby students, taking a year out from their BSc Hons in Computer Networks.
The enterprising pair were aware that the current climate was resulting in fewer & fewer employment & placement opportunities for their gap year. They had also identified that new companies faced a plethora of problems in sourcing the right IT services. So, the duo set up their own IT services company & launched their "Business in a box" packages to provide new companies with complete IT packages. More...

iD's Railtech 'OnTrack'
Adrian Hines of Railtech, an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specialist, has recently returned from a visit to the Hyundai Rotem factory in Seoul (pictured) to witness testing of the electronic traction drive equipment, traction motors & associated equipment for new trains for New Zealand's Wellington Metro, a project that Adrian has been brought into as a train & signalling specialist by OnTrack, New Zealand's equivalent to Network Rail.
The testing saw the operation of the equipment before it is fitted to the trains & drives a huge flywheel instead of the train wheels. More about Railtech...

Learn the 'TrueScale' of Sales & Marketing
Peter Ashurst of Truescale Solutions recently benefited from a Sales & Marketing course provided by Business Link. The one day event saw Peter joined by 12 other fledgling entrepreneurs who were shown useful techniques to segment & communicate with their target markets in order to develop new business.
Peter found the day to be extremely useful & hopes to be attending other courses run by Business Link free of charge.

Rock on!
For our final light-hearted feature, we thought we'd ask iD Centre tenants if they'd brought anything unusual or noteworthy back form their summer holidays this year. Amongst the usual assortment of 'more alcohol than can be humanely carried', key-rings, postcards, lucky charms & t-shirts, the most ridiculous has to be from James Reynolds of Impromptu Software Ltd. Following a request from Director Nigel Brown to bring back some rock, his request was taken literally, resulting in Malta itself being one stone less.
